Ghouls lurk around every corner in Gotham City. The coming of the Batman, as well as Harvey Dent’s brief all out war on the mobsters, has turned casual criminals into a dying breed. Only the most powerful and dangerous now remain, and the city's savior, Batman, is now believed by many to be just as bad as the others. But some of Gotham's citizens retain hope. The night is always darkest before dawn.

Name: Bruce Wayne aka Batman. Nicknames: Wayne, 'The Bat'. Age: 31. Gender: Male. Character Type: Canon. Occupation: Millionaire playboy and caped vigilante. Affiliation: Justice, and the people of Gotham.
Physical Description: Bruce Wayne As your everyday, run-of-the-mill guy with a really offensive sized bank balance, Bruce Wayne seems harmless enough. Standing at 6'2 with a lean, muscular frame (no doubt owed to his personal trainer and well appointed home gym) he tries to appear the average millionaire; expensive suits, rare cars and models on his arm wherever he publicly goes. Medium brown hair is worn in a fashionable style above his dark green eyes, and he has that smug kind of smile which money raises in people and ego keeps in place. Bruce carries himself with a quiet self-confidence, oozing an air of competence, intelligence and smooth derision.
Batman A man dressed from head to toe in matte-finish black kevlar is bound to attract some attention. With sculpted muscles in all the right places, an iconic face mask to cover his true identity and a form-fitting black cape that allows him to swoop the airspace between the high-rises of Gotham, Batman is instantly recognizable to all. Murky dark eyes peer through the mask, colors melted into one another so that even the pupils are indistinguishable in the shadows. Holding himself with the bearing of a man who knows the ins and outs of a rotten city like the back of his hand, Batman is justice incarnate. Its just a shame that the citizens of Gotham city fail to realize it.
Personality: Bruce Wayne Bruce is unpredictable, frivolous and, in short, just like every other person who has too much money and doesn't know how to spend it. Some might consider him stupid, still others might seek to take advantage of the 'boy' who seemingly has no head for business. And it it just when he appears to be losing his marbles, Bruce busts out the wit he was renowned for in college and stuns his business opponents. With the ladies he is rarely seen with the same woman two nights running and rumour has it he has now dated every beautiful young woman within the city limits. Only his faithful friend Alfred knows the truth about his feelings for Rachel Dawes, and Bruce is doing an excellent job in covering it up. When angered or threatened he shows an abominable single-mindedness which can confuse those around him, seeing as he never usually seems to care about much but his own childish whims.
Batman As with every alter-ego, Batman is everything that Bruce Wayne is incapabe of being. He is reliable, honest and brave, and is the face of strength protrayed to the world when Bruce is busy cavhorting around Gotham. Mystery and intrigue come easilly to Batman as no onw knows his true identity or intent, and he prefers to keep it that way. He is capabable of intense kindness and responsibility but just as soon can swing towards sheer brutality and loss of control when pushed to his limits.
History: Bruce Wayne Being spared the well-known tale of his tragic upbringing after the murders of his parents, Bruce went to Princeton where he began a Bachelor degree in Economics, earning less than stellar grades due to his lack of commitment and concentration. His feelings of blame for what happened to his parents escalated and hafway through his Masters degree he simply vanished. During the time he spent away from the world who thought they knew him so well, Bruce became a part of the League of Shadows where he learned the skills he would employ, later, as Batman. Upon his return to Gotham, Bruce found that the city was rotten; even more so than when he left.
After his famous exploits with the Scarecrow and the events surrounding Ra's al Ghul and his near destruction of the city, Bruce continued to live in much the same way as he always had: Richly. Now that the city is is turmoil following the Joker's antics and the death of his close friend Rachel Dawes, Bruce is torn between wanting to retreat into the shall Batman has taken to and wanting to be even more public to keep his finger inextricably on the pulse of the bad blood in Gotham.
Batman Having come into existence when Gotham most needed a hero, Batman has only ever really been seen by the people as a villain. They fear him because they don't understand him, and even though he has combined with the non-corrupted forces of Gotham's Police Department to bring in the most dangerous criminals the city knows, he is still largely feared. Since the Joker has been finally locked up at Arkham and the deaths of Harvey Dent and Rachel Dawes, Batman has been laying lower than usual. Only the rising of a new threat may bring him back out into the open.
